Chris Robinson is Senior Vice President, Legal and Associate General Counsel at NetSuite Inc., an industry leading provider of cloud-based financials, ERP and omnichannel commerce software suites.
Since joining NetSuite as the 2nd attorney in the early stages of SaaS, before it was called the cloud, Chris has been responsible for legal support and strategy for NetSuite’s commercial activities from pre-IPO to its current stage as a fast-growing public company approaching $500 million in revenue. Chris is responsible for the legal function at NetSuite from supporting sales directly to leading the legal team that advises business teams on strategy and structure of commercial transactions, business development, inbound licensing, product launches, and marketing and coordinating strategy across global sales and distribution channels. She also works with cross-functional teams on pricing and new product strategies as well as implementing programs for data privacy and managing due diligence and integration for NetSuite’s regular flow of acquisitions. Chris has been energized by the challenge of working with NetSuite’s business teams on the leading edge of the cloud revolution, reworking legal constructs to keep with the unique aspects of the cloud and platform models, and continuing to accommodate new innovations in this dynamic industry.
Prior to joining NetSuite, Chris started with a strong foundation in Silicon Valley technology companies as an attorney in the corporate securities and tax groups at Brobeck, Phleger & Harrison before moving in-house with VISX to support sales, licensing and finance group activities. After VISX was acquired by Advanced Medical Optics (now Abbott Medical Optics), she grew with the legal team to be Senior Managing Attorney at Advanced Medical Optics where she led legal support and guidance across a range of functions while working closely with finance, sales and R&D. Chris has enjoyed the fascinating experience of being involved in the growth of cloud computing.
Chris is recognized as an experienced and business-focused manager, adept at leading the corporate legal department during times of extensive growth and change. She has a Juris Doctor from Stanford University Law School and a Bachelor of Science in Managerial Economics from the University of California at Davis. When Chris is not working, she enjoys the adventures of parenting and spending time with her three teenage daughters, snowboarding, hiking and other outdoor activities.
