Mishez Avari is Senior Vice President of Strategy and Operational Risk Management at Citigroup, with responsibility for the North America Credit Card business. Prior to that she was the Marketing Strategy lead for a Citi Private Label credit card portfolio with $19B in annual sales. In this role she was responsible for data mining, customer research, segmentation, the targeting strategy, creative as well as performance measurement and analysis.
Throughout her 8 year tenure with Citi, Mishez has built a reputation for developing innovative strategies, constructing strong teams, managing through change and driving results.
Prior to joining Citi, Mishez spent 12 years in the Telecom industry. With the mergers, acquisitions and divestitures that were taking place she worked for 3 different companies (Ameritech, SBC & then AT&T) without ever changing locations. She held numerous roles during her tenure in the industry, including marketing, project management, new product development and product management. She leveraged the opportunities the industry provided, to work with consumers, small business and large verticals such as the higher education industry.
During her spare time Mishez coaches her kid’s sports teams and finds any excuse to get on a tennis court. She earned her Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do (a skill she refrains from using in the work place). Mishez earned a bachelor’s degree in Economics from Illinois Wesleyan University.
