Former Senior Vice President and Global General Manager, Mattel

Lori Pantel is Senior Vice President and Global General Manager of Girls’ Brands at Mattel, a position she has held since February 2016. In this role, Lori oversees global teams responsible for worldwide brand and marketing strategy, creative execution and product development for Mattel’s Monster High and Ever After High brands, as well as the company’s DC Super Hero Girls line. In addition, Lori is charged with optimizing key strategic partnerships, including the Monster High brand’s recently-announced collaboration with Lady Gaga’s Born This Way foundation.  

Throughout her career, Lori has effectively redefined and executed strategies for global consumer brands, with a focus on ensuring a cohesive global brand DNA that resonates with consumers, retailers and partners. Previously, Lori served as Vice President, Marketing for Mattel’s North America Division, with broad responsibility for defining and executing brand and marketing strategies across Mattel’s portfolio of consumer brands. Prior to that, as Vice President, Global Brand Marketing, Lori managed all aspects of marketing strategy for for Mattel’s Girls’ Brands, with focus on the celebrated Barbie brand. In this role, Lori successfully created and executed global brand campaigns to reinforce the iconic fashion doll’s status as the ultimate lifestyle brand for girls.

Lori joined Mattel in 2002 as an Associate Brand Manager on the Barbie brand, overseeing various fashion and entertainment campaigns. She went on to hold a number of marketing leadership roles with the company, including senior director of international marketing and Vice President of Girls Marketing.

Prior to joining Mattel, Lori was a founding member of a boutique management firm that specialized in operations and manufacturing redesign, where she led client service teams on top management issues including operational effectiveness, organization redesign and more.

Lori earned a Bachelor of Commerce degree from McGill University in Montreal, and an MBA degree from Harvard Business School. She resides in Los Angeles with her husband and two sons, Jack and Will.
