Karen Matijak is Vice President of Business Process Improvement at NBTY, a wellness company with a history of more than 145 years, proudly standing as the leader in health and wellness.  Karen is responsible for leading and managing large strategic initiatives to enable IPO-readiness at NBTY.  

Karen is a highly experienced, hands-on leader of business transformation. She has consistently delivered results across multiple industries such as consumer packaged goods, healthcare, financial services and publishing.  Combining a mix of process reengineering, change management and automation, Karen has helped numerous organizations deliver tangible business results to enable growth, increase efficiencies and drive cost savings.  

Prior to joining NBTY, Karen led Business Process Management at The McGraw-Hill Companies for 5 years where she was a key leader in driving Growth, Productivity and Speed and directly responsible for developing an HR Shared Services organization for the successful split of McGraw-Hill Education from McGraw-Hill Financial.  Karen also spent 10 years of her career at General Electric in a variety of roles in GE Healthcare, GE Capital and GE Lighting, where she has consistently delivered business results and led large, complex, transformational projects and initiatives.  She is a certified Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt.  Karen and her family live on Long Island, New York.
