Hayley Romer, Publisher and Chief Revenue Officer at The Atlantic, is an expert in creating culture that enables people to thrive. In a time when the media industry is facing major disruption, she positioned a 150+ year-old brand to the forefront of industry trends. Hayley is energized by the pursuit of excellence and progress. She has a keen ability to cue in on details that make pivotal connections between people, ideas, and brands.

In her current role, she leads brand marketing, the global sales team, Atlantic Re:think (the in-house branded content studio), and A57 (the in-house consulting practice). Through deep passion and progressive initiatives, Hayley has driven four consecutive years of record sales and profits. Under her leadership, The Atlantic and Atlantic Re:think have become the leaders in native advertising for the industry. In both 2016 and 2017, Atlantic Re:think was named Content Best In-house Content Studio by Digiday and in 2018 won the Hottest Branded Content Studio by AdWeek.

Prior to joining The Atlantic in May 2012, Hayley spent five years at the Condé Nast Media Group. As Executive Director of Corporate Sales, she managed an integrated sales and marketing team across titles such as The New Yorker, Vanity Fair, and Wired. Before joining Condé Nast in 2007, Hayley spent seven years Forbes Media and began her career in publishing at American Heritage magazine. Hayley completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Communication at the University of Maryland College Park.

A revered thought-leader and subject matter expert, Hayley has spoke at The World Economic Forum, South by Southwest, and Duke University’s Fuqua/Coach K Center on Leadership & Ethics, Cannes Advertising Festival, and in interviews in Politico and Folio Magazine. In 2016, she was recognized as one of Ad Age’s 40 under 40 honorees and in 2018 Folio’s Top Women in Media. Never satiated, Hayley continues to look for ways to expand her mind and extend her impact. She is currently an active member of Advancing Women Executives – an organization that accelerates the careers of women to improve the global economy. She sits on the boards of COLE at Fuqua/Duke and the AdCouncil.

When she is not driving change in media, Hayley can be found running or cooking with her family and friends. She is married to Adam Schoenberg, Co-founder and CEO of Hook and Albert, a men’s accessories company. She has two kids Adler and Pierce. She calls New York home.
