With over 20 years of experience in the technology industry, Emily Cates has tailored her career towards services excellence, global enterprise workforce development and sales enablement to accelerate business growth and transformation.
As Vice President of Professional & Learning Services for Zebra Technologies, Emily is responsible for Zebra’s global Professional Services organization as well as Zebra’s Global Solution and Education Centers. Her group brings Zebra’s core portfolio and intelligent edge solutions to life by working closely with an ecosystem of partners to deliver business outcomes and customer value.
In December 2020, Emily was named Co-President of the Zebra’s Women Inclusion Network, a company initiative to connect, develop and advocate for women by focusing on inspiring a culture of inclusion, diversity, innovation and leadership.
Emily joined Zebra through the Motorola acquisition in October 2014, where she was the Global Services Chief of Staff in addition to leading Global Employee Learning. Prior to this, she was in Human Resources Management Leading Talent Development for Good Technology which was acquired by Motorola in 2009. Her experience spans across Fortune 500 and several venture-based startup companies, strengthening her ability to lead through rapidly changing market dynamics while providing agile capability management with a “Customer First” approach.
Emily is a graduate of North Carolina State University having earned a B.A in Business Management. She is a certified Executive Coach, has achieved numerous industry awards for innovation, thought leadership and cutting-edge learning design, and recently completed Harvard Business School’s Disruptive Strategy program. She resides in Ontario, Canada with her husband and two children.
