Former Vice President of Finance, Business Planning and Analysis, Sephora
Cora Buel boasts a dynamic 21-year-career in finance and operations within the retail industry. An expert at establishing analytical and finance management skills that support customer-centric multi-billion dollar companies, Cora is an empowering leader’s leader who has clear vision of what works for the team and what will enable continued success into the future. She is known for her ability to rebuild leadership teams and reorganize people and programs. Not only is Cora meticulous about details but grasps the bigger picture on issues that largely impact the financial status of business. Her sharp analytical mind compliments her unique ability to connect with people and create mutually beneficial partnerships.
Currently, she is Vice President of Finance, Business Planning and Analysis at Sephora. In her role, she diligently leads all key financial planning processes for Sephora Americas, develops and builds plans to allocate resources to the right projects in order to deliver consistent growth, and performs detailed analyses that provide crucial operational and capital expense insights. Cora’s reach is felt far beyond the scope of her role. She is an Executive Sponsor in Sephora’s Working Parents InCommunity Group and she is an active member in both Sephora’s Sustainability Leadership Council and their Green Team.
Prior to Sephora, Cora spent 14 years at Macy’s and held various titles including Vice President Financial Planning and Analysis and Investment Strategy Group Director. Before that she was the Profit Improvement Coordinator at Lord & Taylor.
Cora has a deep passion for people which has lead her to various caused-based organizations and volunteer opportunities. Since 2015, Cora has been a volunteer baker for Cake4Kids – an organization that was founded with the mission of delivering free birthday cakes to foster care and at-risk youth who wouldn’t otherwise have a birthday celebration. Cora is also an active member in Advancing Women Executives – an organization aimed at accelerating the careers of women in business to improve the global economy.
When she is not in the office, Cora can be found going to a concert or musical with her 13-year-old daughter, Haley, or exploring the world with her husband through a culinary lens – their favorite way to experience a new city is with an excellent meal. Cora and her family call beautiful Daly City their home.
Cora completed her Bachelor’s in Economics at New York University.
