Manager, Brand Communications

We are currently seeking a Manager, Brand Communications to help shape and expand AWE’s brand awareness. You are someone who thrives in an environment where everyone wears multiple (and AWE-some) hats. You are a skilled writer with a passion for words and a knack for channeling a brand or client’s voice. You have an eye for design and the technical skills to create digital content and beautiful presentations that connect with audiences. You have that project management magic that allows you manage multiple campaigns with simultaneous deadlines. The position reports to the Head of Operations and is remote.


  • Create, design, and publish all content for bimonthly newsletters, marketing materials,, LinkedIn, and other social media platforms;
  • Learn the voice, writing style, and area of expertise of CEO to create content on her behalf;
  • Write original content for the AWE brand and clients using a combination of existing content, interview notes, and original research;
  • Manage content production calendars and regularly communicate deadlines with stakeholders;
  • Generate PR for AWE and CEO across multiple platforms;
  • Research and procure speaking opportunities for CEO;
  • Maintain AWE website and SEO strategy;
  • Track and present monthly reports on audience engagement metrics;
  • Produce AWE’s virtual public events including brainstorming panel topics, booking panelists, marketing the events, and coordinating all event logistics;
  • Standardize and maintain an archive of images, photos, copy, and previous work samples for all projects;
  • Keep Head of Operations updated on activities, significant problems, prioritization and progress toward established goals and deadlines;
  • Assist on other team projects (brainstorming, product naming, etc.) as required.


Successful candidate will possess:

  • Alignment with AWE’s mission to create equity and economic growth in the workplace;
  • Excellent written skills with a minimum of three years writing original editorial copy that reflects a brand or client’s voice;
  • An extensive understanding of all creative disciplines, both conceptual and executional (layout, design, user experience, copy, and video), and the ability to integrate feedback;
  • Media creation experience using design and production software including Adobe Creative Cloud products (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat, Express), basic video editing tools (iMovie, YouTube), Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel);
  • Experience with WordPress, web page and email design (HTML);
  • Social media marketing and audience engagement experience via LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook and Twitter, and familiarity with production and scheduling tools including Mailchimp, Hootsuite and Planoly;
  • Superior project management, organizational, and communication skills;
  • An ability to interpret directions and take ownership of assignments to completion;
  • Must work well under deadline pressure and be a strong team player;
  • Spirit of generosity and service;
  • Intellectual curiosity and drive to problem solve;
  • Bachelor’s or Associate Degree.
