Regional Vice President of Sales & Marketing, Comcast

Elaine Barden is the Regional Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Comcast. Elaine brings almost 25 years of marketing, sales and general management experience in the cable television industry to her role as Comcast’s Regional Vice President of Sales & Marketing for the California Region. Named as one of the “Top 100 Most Influential Women in Cable” by Cable World magazine, she has consistently received the accolades of her peers and industry throughout her career and has produced outstanding results with her team.

Elaine previously served as the General Manager for United Artists/ TCI in Alameda, California from 1992-1994, where she managed a 16,000 subscriber cable system. She became Regional Operations Manager for TCI in 1995, Regional Sales and Marketing Director in 1996, and Director of Marketing for the San Francisco/Bay Area in 1999, before moving to her present position for Comcast in 2003.

Presently, Elaine is responsible for a 250+ person sales and marketing team that includes a 12-member product and marketing analytics group. Elaine’s team was able to significantly increase video and high-speed internet subscribers, launch Comcast Digital Voice phone service and grow video-ondemand usage to 70% of all digital cable households. She currently is responsible for a $3 billion revenue base and more than 2.2 million subscribers.

A graduate of the University of California at Berkeley with a degree in Rhetoric, Elaine is a member of the Cable & Telecommunications Association for Marketing (CTAM) Speakers Bureau on Ethnic Marketing, specializing in marketing to Asian and Hispanic households. She is also the Executive Director of the Cinlexico Charitable Foundation and has served as the Vice President of Women in Cable and Telecommunications’ (WICT) National Board of Directors.
