Vice President, Human Resources, Cisco Systems

Christine Bastian is a visionary who brings strong thought leadership and experience to transformational business engagements across numerous technologies. She is an expert in organizational design, leadership development, and consulting. Throughout her 20+ year career in human resources, she has consistently driven high performance across a multitude of teams.

Currently, she is the Vice President, Human Resources at Cisco Systems and is the HR leader for the 28,000-person engineering organization. Christine directly supports the Executive Vice President and his senior leadership team and is responsible for all HR business consulting, partnering, and service delivery. In addition to her role, she is the Executive Sponsor for the Connected Women Employee Resource Organization, and a Co-Executive, Cisco Sponsor for the Grace Hopper Conference.

Since joining Cisco, Christine has served as the HR partner for the Advanced Services, Finance, and Emerging Business Organizations. She successfully partnered with her clients on a wide range of complex organizational business opportunities including early business incubation, acquisition integration, strategic planning and visioning, organization structure, and portfolio alignment.

Prior to Cisco, Christine was Senior HR Partner at Genentech and Agilent Technologies where she supported multiple departments such as: Finance, Tax, Treasury, Investor Relations, Corporate Communications, Workplace Services, and Trade.

Christine completed her Bachelor of Science at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. When she is not at work, she can be found spending time with her family, camping in the nearby mountains, cooking up a fresh meal, or sailing the Pacific.
