Carol Jackson is Vice President of Government and Public Affairs for Macy’s, Inc. She is a servant leader and passionate advocate for organizations transforming lives. One of the ways Carol lives her passion is through participative board service for social impact. Carol provides thought leadership in support of the mission, and inspires others to make a difference in people’s lives.
She works in assigned states to promote the Company’s economic interests, core values and strategic priorities before state and local elected officials, community leaders and opinion leaders. Carol serve as a resource to, and to build strong lines of communication among, these key stakeholders and Macy’s local management, Company leadership and legislative subject matter contacts.

Carol is focused on key issues, key western states and top tier markets which include Southern California, San Francisco, Seattle, Sacramento, Honolulu and Portland.

Carol has held a number of executive positions during her tenure at Macy’s, including Vice President External Affairs and Diversity Management, Store Manager, Regional Director of Human Resources, and buyer.

She serves on the executive committees of the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce and the Los Angeles Urban League. She is currently a board member of the Washington Retailers Association, American Cancer Society, Inc., United Ways of California, United Way of Greater Los Angeles, American Heart Association – Los Angeles County Division, Asian & Pacific Islander American Scholarship Fund, trustee of the National Urban League and Oncology Nurses Society (ONS) Foundation and Honorary Life Member of the Board of Directors, American Cancer Society, California Division. She previously served as President of the California State University Los Angeles Foundation, as board chair of the Northwest Minority Supplier Development Council, past chair of the Board of Directors, American Cancer Society, California Division, Inc. and past delegate to the National Assembly.

Carol graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara with a Bachelor of Arts degree. She resides in Long Beach, California.
