Former Vice President of Operations, Dispersions and Resins, BASF Corporation

Sheila Chickene is Vice President of Operations, Dispersions and Resins at BASF Corporation.  In this role, she leads, coaches, and consults manufacturing teams to operationally excellent performance.

Sheila’s career has spanned many industries including agriculture, catalysts, dispersions, fasteners, minerals, pigments, precious metals, and resins. Within these industries, she has worked across a broad range of functions that include experience in continuous improvement, product management, manufacturing, supply chain, sales management, logistics, contract management, customer care, product stewardship, foreign trade, and business management. 

In addition to her BASF responsibilities, Sheila has served on the Board of North Carolina State University’s College of Sciences and as a peer reviewer for Academy of Management publications. 

A native of the Chicago area, Sheila holds a BS in Industrial Engineering from Bradley University; an MS in Engineering Management from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst; and a Doctorate in Management from the University of Maryland.

Sheila lives on Lake Norman in the Charlotte area with her husband Paul and children Michael and Alexa.
