Advancing Women Executives (AWE)  is the premier business service for the advancement of corporate executive women, supported by women and men. AWE members have the common goal of partnering, supporting, and promoting each other.

Membership to AWE is by invitation only and is company-sponsored. Senior executives working in VP-level and above corporate roles in Finance, Sales & Marketing, IT, Legal, HR, and Operations are eligible. AWE is a service professional-free membership and adheres to a strict policy against marketing or commercial activity.

Meiko Takayama

Meiko Takayama is the Founder and CEO of Advancing Women Executives. Meiko created AWE when she recognized that there needed to be a paradigm shift in corporate America in order to increase the number of women at the top of companies. Through improving awareness, instilling action and creating change, AWE is actively engaging with executives and their companies to improve business by promoting women.

Meiko is a sought after speaker, presenting regularly at Fortune 500 companies and conferences, including UPWARD, Occidental College and Representative Royce’s Women’s Conference. She was also featured in BCBG’s Holiday Catalog.

AWE was created as an amalgamation of the work that Meiko did as a leading executive recruiter focusing on C-level searches in Finance, Operations, IT, Sales and Marketing and as a Managing Director at the Corporate Executive Board. Meiko has also been a leading fundraising executive at the Museum of Modern Art and the Guggenheim Museum in New York and the Victoria & Albert Museum in London.

Meiko lives with her husband and two sons in Los Angeles. She earned her Bachelor of Arts from Bryn Mawr College.
